About WHC
Watton Ladies HC have been established for 30 odd years and have slowly but surely grown from a single ladies team, playing on a grass pitch, which the players themselves used to mark out every Saturday morning, to a two senior ladies team and a colts team club with a thriving junior section. This summer will finally see the official merger with Watton Men to form Watton Hockey Club.

The Ladies 1st team have finished 3rd in East League Division 1 North this season and are currently the second highest ranked Norfolk team, only behind Harleston Magpies 1st team in league status. Next season will see a concerted push for promotion and will be looked to increase their squad in the close season.

In the 2006/07 season the 1st team made it to the final of the Nation HA Trophy. In their second year in the National HA Trophy, Watton have overturned Welwyn Garden City, Bourne, Leeds & Adel Carnegie, Holcombe and Beaminster to reach the Final. The ladies received fantastic support at all the games, even in Dorset, and the final was no different with a mass crowd of supporters they narrowly missed out on lifting the Trophy.

The second team currently reside in the Norfolk Premier Division, and the future looks good for the team, with one or two new players and returning players, the team’s core looks strong for next season.

The Colts team consolidated their position on Norfolk Division One this season. They have several good young players with bags of potential and the coaching staff will be helping them to fulfil that potential and turn them into future fist team players.
